Avatar Season Three Conclusion - Starting July!

I am one of those people that will find a brilliant cartoon (or anime, depending) and follow it to the end. I did that for Cowboy Bebop when they replayed it on Adult Swim, and also with Full Metal Alchemist, which I probably watched through three times. (I even own one bootleg copy of the movie- Conquerer of Shamballa, with horrible subtitles galore, plus the REAL copy, with english dubbing.)

But it’s not often that I really regarded any children’s show on nickelodeon to be any good. I grew up watching Rocko’s Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy and Kablaam and all that, but when I got older I just didn’t see any merit in after-school programming. Every show premise seemed dumber than the last.

Then my boyfriend made me sit down and watch Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was halfway through it’s first season, and I never gave it much thought. But soon enough I was hooked. The characters were well-developed and believable, the environment was engaging, and it was such a wonderful, epic idea of one 12-year-old (112-year-old, actually) badass who has to save the world before time runs out. And I instantly fell in love with the idea of bending elements, and especially later on when one of the characters, Toph (An earth bender), learns to bend metal and even meteorite rock.

If you haven’t given it a chance yet, please do. Catch the old episodes sometime, because I’m sure they’re going to do a re-run marathon soon. It’s so much more than a kid’s show. It’s so epic and engaging, and you really begin to care about the characters on a deeper level. :)

Prince of Persia Speedpaint

Anyone that knows me know I’m a crack-addict fan of Ubisoft Montreal studios and the Prince of Persia series. I’d have finished Two Thrones by now if Rachel didn’t have my TV or if the game would play for the 360. Argh.

Why do I like Prince of Persia so much? Because it’s an epic platformer with an epic story and a great visual appeal. The new one (Heir Apparent?) slated to come out around the holiday season (Along with Gears of War 2!) will feature a new Prince in a new story line with a new girl (Named Elika) and a fresh new look. I’m so excited, and I’m certain I’m going to get it the day it drops.

So enjoy that little speedpaint there. :)

It’s 2100 here at Oceanside. I’m going bug-eyed trying to mess with my site at the moment. I added a widget to your left that now lets you see my recent deviations on my deviantart, if it feels like ever updating and showing recent stuff…

Currently jamming to Panic at the Disco, Kimya Dawson, and Nirvana. Wonder if I can stay awake much longer.

Weezer’s Pork and Beans

There’s some in there I don’t recognize, but I definately caught:
The Numa Numa guy
Chris Crocker (Augh, he makes my blood boil)
The Unicorns
T-Shirt Guy
Dramatic Prairie Dog
Daft Punk Hands
Daft Punk Girls
History of Dance Guy

I heard Potter Puppet Pals were invited to join, but they ended up not using them. That would have been fun though. Emmy and Niel Cicireiga have been snowballing in their fame recently. :) They were on the Today Show.

We’re going to Disneyland in October, and I’m so incredibly excited and I really hope I can find a Wall-E while I’m there. :D
