To Witness History

I have seen something truly magnificent. Like the birth of a star, this group exploded to life with true vigor and candor. In other words: these guys kicked ASS.

These guys, of course, being the band Broken Threshold, making their debut at my highschool’s talent show this year. Travis (lead singer) Phurious (Drummer) Tyler (Bassist) and Nester (rhythm guitar) did great. They were the last student act of the show, and it was truly the best. Way better than the reigning champions, When you Wake. (It’s about time When you Wake got kicked down a notch. You don’t do Miley Cyrus covers if you’re a rock band!)

So I’m pleased to announce the birth of something new a wonderful. Ladies and gentlemen, Broken Threshold! :D

A Lurch and a Groan

Twitter has just sapped everything interesting from me lately. I should use my blog more often. I’ve intended to use it as a half webcomic, half whatever, but I’ve been busy lately… Read: Playing Fallout 3.

But, that’s not to say I haven’t done anything recently. Far from the truth, in fact. I’ve been bustin’ my ass to get my AP Ceramics portfolio finished before May, as well as keep my grades decent in AP Government. Everything else is easy riding, and I’m just fine with that.

I’m not so concerned with getting a job at the moment. I just want to tackle one thing at a time, and right now, that means graduating. As long as I maintain a C-B average in my AP Government class, I’m good to go. I’m going to start a bachelor’s degree in Business as the community college here while it’s cheap, and once that’s out of the way, hopefully I’ll be able to afford to transfer up to The Motherland to get a masters in Fine Art along with a teaching certificate.

I hate my classmates. That’s why I want to be a teacher. I want to make my kids a less ignorant lot. If only there was a way I could teach a mix of Art and Government.

I’ve also been enjoying Creative Writing, as per usual. My teacher there is incredibly insightful and kind. I’m lucky to have so many teachers at the school that take a personal interest in me and actually make me feel welcome. I wish my classmates knew enough respect so that they too could feel what I feel. They think respect is brown-nosing. C’est la vie.

So, monetary goals include:
Prom dress ($140)
Shoes ($30)
Ticket ($50)
Dinner ($40-50)

After that, it’s art supplies from here on out.

I’ll try to post my short story from this year soon. It turned out better than usual- I think my writing skills have improved a bit. Still not my strongest aspect, but I enjoy it enough to write now and again. Hopefully I’ll be more encouraged to write here, and stop wasting money.

I’m much more talkative on Twitter. You can find me as @ultranima. I tweet multiple times daily. Maybe someone can pester me into posting more in-depth things here, eh?

Happy travels,
Flip

Shenanigans (A racist term.)

We went to the park, my pals and I, and we took some good photos as the sun was getting low.

Quest Complete!

After two long years of procrastination, I finished MM’s Great Giveaway of Crap challenge and did my good deed. Really, it did take *too* long, and this will forever go down as a testament to just how bad my procrastination can get.

So my new goal? I’m going to do a post a day. Since I’ve been gone for so many months, there’s a lot to catch everyone up on. I’m almost halfway through my senior year and I have nothing to show for it. So, since Tyler is doing his 1000 Days video project, I’ll do 1000 Blog Posts. (I’d do 1000 videos, but you see. Tyler took my Mino and I probably won’t get it back as long as he’s doing his project. *hem*)

So starting today, with post… 1.

Nothing really new to report, other than senior pictures. I purchased a cap and gown yesterday, and I’m debating on either getting a ring or a tattoo… (I think I’ll get the tattoo.)
Here it is:
