I had a big problem earlier this year with getting my analog photos to develop. At one point I got over-confident with my camera and ended up over-exposing everything. Then I think the papers and chemicals were conspiring against me, since it took me an hour and a half each day just to get two images printed, and they didn’t even turn out.
But, I took two rolls of film one day and just went to town with my spontaneous portraits and stuff. I got a lot of great shots, but here are my three favorites that I managed to get done today:

I love the dark. I haven’t been able to play in the dark for years; when I was in college, I worked part-time at a studio, and was on the yearbook/newspaper staff at the same time. There would be days when I would spend 12 hours in the dark, nothing but me and the images.
It’s like magic. I loved developing my own film, my own pictures. I loved all the different kinds of papers, the effects I could create in the dark. I even learned how to retouch negatives (not for the faint of heart, or the shaky of hand) and was a master at the old dodge and burn.
You are so lucky…

also holy crap these are gorgeous.
but please call them ‘film’ or ‘35mm’ photos, not ‘analog’ :p
someday i’m going to have a darkroom and studio, and it is a moral imperative that you come and play in it. there’s nothing nicer than going into a darkroom in the afternoon, and then walking home and realizing you’re watching the sun come up. time-sinker like crazy.
